She was surprised to see her husband safely on the bank of the river. He smiled at her and said "everything is alright. I love you". She screamed at him in frustration, saying why aren't you down in the river saving our sons? She grabbed at him and he disappeared. Later she learned he never made it out of the car, trapped in the river. |
Science tells us that near death experiences are real. This in turn validates all the diverse spiritual experiences associated with dying including premonitions of death, shared dying experiences and after death communications.

Not everyone has the same kind of experience. You might not see an angel. After death communications can be in the form of a plant blooming out of season, or for one family, it was the sudden appearance of a parking space that was a message from a child who had passed. It might be a voice, a touch, or just a feeling.
I once gave a lecture on near death experiences. A woman approached me and sadly told me that she was so disappointed she didn't have an NDE when she almost died. She said:
"I was in darkness. And then I thought my Dad (who had already passed) was hugging me. I felt so safe and loved."
But she didn't see this as a spiritual experience because it didn't fit the experiences of others who report of seeing relatives or hearing voices.
